Anthem School of Music LLC was founded in 2007 By Nathaniel A. Villarreal as Anthem Studios. During one of the worst economic recessions in the Nation’s history, Nathaniel saw an opportunity to spread his concept and vision of enriching the lives of every student through the power of music. By customizing each lesson based on the learning styles of every student, Nathaniel could instruct, critique, and motivate his students to perform at the highest levels. In 2008 Nathaniel developed the quick start method for guitar which included and instructional DVD, Ready to Rock. By simplifying the instruction process Nathaniel and Anthem Studios quickly gained popularity as one of the best instructors and studios in San Antonio. The quick start method is still in use today, and allows students at any level to grasp musical concepts and retain musical knowledge. The Quick start method has been adapted and applied to all styles and instrument instruction at Anthem School of Music LLC. Nathaniel has toured all over the world and has instructed thousands of lesson's, hundred's of student's. Andrew started teaching himself guitar in 2014, and within 4 years he was teaching students and playing professionally. Driven first by a love of heavy metal guitar, he is now proficient in many musical genres, and has taught himself piano, bass, ukulele, music theory, improvisation and composition. He’s played at the Alamo, sang in Carnegie Hall, and made the news with his solo guitar playing. John Knox spent forty years in healthcare, most of which was as President/Chief Executive Officer of hospitals across the country. After retiring he turned to teaching and has spent the last few years teaching Chemistry and Biology to high school students and has also taught Microbiology/Infectious Diseases at Trinity University (He holds a Masters in Science (MS) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA)). He began taking piano lessons in kindergarten and continued taking lessons through high school. John has played piano his entire life and performed occasionally in front of rather large audiences. HIs favorite piece is Rhapsody in Blue but he favors Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Rachmaninoff as well as popular music. He is married to Karen and has two adult children and four grandchildren.
Ambar is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) with experience in guitar, clarinet, & piano. Growing up, she always had an interest in music & went on to play in the marching band from middle school through college. She attended University of the Incarnate Word and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Therapy. After passing the board exam, she gained music therapy experience by providing home therapy services to young adults with special needs. Ambar looks forward to using her clinical experience to help teach music to children of all abilities!
